nerdy mapping stuff
Normal diff is pretty plain, not much to say. Would have liked to do 1/4 runs going to the Mettaton sounds in the first third of the map but unfortunately those runs go up to 9-11 notes in length and RC forbids it, even though this is at a lower bpm. So those get represented as 1/2s instead. Kinda underwhelming, but whatever. Rhythms are generalized to 1/4s, so you'll see notes which are snapped to 1//12 or 1/16s in the upper two divisions represented as 1/2 or 1/4 here.

Hard diff is actually the neatest structurally, probably. Top diff (podium) is the version that went into UEP, and it's more unrelenting in pace in the mashcore 2nd half, primarily because it takes every chance to represent literally...everything, including 1/4s to pretty quiet sweeps, just to keep the pressure on. The hard diff doesn't do this - it focuses mainly on the emergent sounds at each point, although it does incorporate the Mettaton 1/4 beep boops when those come in halfway through in the 2nd half.

From a player's standpoint it's therefore a little more stop and go so some people will like it less. Top diff has pretty much no brakes and the patterning is also much more uncompromising and literal, so although the object count and SR don't seem that much higher...be assured it is definitely tougher : ).
