[confirmed] Some ranked maps have outdated preview images

Problem Details: Some days ago, I've changed and updated the background of my map (https://osu.ppy.sh/s/88770), which got ranked few hours later. However, the preview image in the beatmap listing still shows the old bg (I've waited more than 48 hours since latest update but nothing changed).
Could this be fixed?

Bumping thread, since I've modded this map (https://osu.ppy.sh/s/126059), whose BG got changed but the old one is kept in the webpage. Tried with the mapper to change the BG name, and also deleting his files inside osu!\Data\SubmissionCache. The folder looks clean though, and also the .osu files.

Now the question is if we're allowed to keep with the ranking process of the beatmap regardless of this issue, or not Nevermind, asked for confirmation.

More than likely it's the same file name as the previous image so it never changed it on the preview?

I also managed to replicate this awhile back with this map: https://osu.ppy.sh/s/79504

If you download it will obviously have a different BG pic. I'm wondering if it caused this because I pressed cancel on "Creating Preview" or "Creating Package" one of those two when that BBS error was happening awhile back.

Possibilities to look into

Probably make a cron job to update the beatmap image here in website could solve it

It might be that Rumi's difficulty has a different background, but yeah.

the same thing happened to my map too:

but real bg is

and I saw this confirmed at the other forum https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/170806, but don't know when it will be fixed.
I even don't know if this will be fixed automatically when it is moved to ranked from qualified..
but this map,https://osu.ppy.sh/s/140662, when creator changed the background, the preview background changed immediately. I am really confused, hope it will be solved soon.

Then this thread is a duplicate (which doesn't only apply to ranked beatmaps).

This issue always existed. I got it too 1 year ago on this mapset: http://osu.ppy.sh/forum/p/1958288
It has been "self-fixed" after 2 days if I'm not wrong.

I've had this problem on my map for an unusually long time, almost 2 months now: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/122597
Normally it does self fix but this one seems to have persisted for really long.

Would be nice to have some kind of retroactive sanity check once this issue is fixed, if possible.

I just had this issue on a map I'm working on. I edited my background image because I didn't like how it showed up, and saved it with the same filename. When I tried to re-upload it, it wouldn't display a background image until I changed the filename.

Bump again. I have a mapset with several backgrounds being used by different difficulties. https://osu.ppy.sh/s/184806

I would like to use the Normal's background for the preview image, so I upload from that difficulty as you're supposed to. Well on one update, I uploaded from one of my Taiko difficulties by mistake, and the preview image got reset on the website. After re-uploading several times from the Normal difficulty, the preview image on the website has still not updated 3 days later, even though the thumbnail in-game is correct.
