Notice: It's in theory, not in reality. If you want to spend the minimun of time in mapping a set for a <5min song in this way, you can have a try.

  1. Firstly, This is someting about diff range of every color as website shows:
(0~1.5 is Green, 1.5~2.25 is Blue, 2.25~3.75 is Yellow, 3.75~5.25 is Pink, 5.25~6.75 is Purple, >6.75* is Black)
  2. As is universally acknowledged to us, It depends on the highest diff. A <5min song must include a Normal and a Hard at least. Than an Insane. If your highest diff is Extra, your set must contain at least NHIX 4 diffs. If your highest diff is Ultra, your set must contain at least NHIXU 5 diffs.
  3. Basically, From the lowest diff to the highest diff. Every range must have at least 1 diff in a ranked set.(e.g. If a ranked set contains a Normal(Blue) and an Insane(Pink), it must contain a Hard(Yellow).) But sometimes the Blue range doesn't contain any diff while there is a set of a Normal(Green) and an adjoining Hard(Yellow). However, The range of Blue only has a width of 0.75* and all of other ranges of every color are 1.5* wide or more. So it's the reason for appearance of Blue blank.
  4. Thus, to avoid this blanks, in other words, to avoid no diff(Pink) when your set has a diff(Yellow) and a diff(Purple) or to avoid no diff(Purple) when your set has a diff(Pink) and a diff(Black), if your Insane(Pink) is slightly more than 5*, you can only map a 6*+ Expert(Purple) and you needn't map another Expert in between. thus the fifth diff Ultra(Black) can up to 8*.
  5. With Normal's star rate up to 2.5* and the disappearance of 2.00* limit to the lowest diff, You can map a Normal more than 2.25* as the lowest diff of a set, therefore, The set's lowest diff is Normal(Yellow) and the second diff can be Hyper(Pink), which is slightly over 3.75* (about 4*, I don't suggest mappers that they map it as difficult as the majority of Insanes are). The third diff can be Lunatic(Purple) or Another(Purple) slightly over 5.25* (about 5.3*~5.5*) Colored diff. Finally, the forth diff can up to 7*. Thus, you can map a 4 diff set of Normal-Hyper-Lunatic-7* and rank it.
    Summary
    1. If your highest diff is less than 6.75*, you can map Normal(Blue)-Hard(Yellow)-Insane(Pink, about 5*)-Expert(Purple) at least.
    2. If your highest diff is approximately 7*, you can map Normal(Yellow)-Hyper(Pink, about 4*)-Lunatic(Purple, 5.3*~5.5*)-Ultra(Black, about 7*) at least.
    3. If your highest diff is much more than 7*, you need to map 5 diffs at least.
