I think they already started. Theres also this ouendan himebrwe game somewhere on gbatemp.net but i havent played it.
Bunch of people have tried in the past. The attempt that is actually playable hasn't been updated in over six months, so I'd say that one is dead. A forum member has been giving it a shot, but he was mostly held up with how to draw sliders, and that front has grown quiet as well.
Currently, discounting any surprises, I would say we will probably have to wait until either somebody releases a DS library that makes complex objects like sliders easy, or Peppy decides to delve into DS homebrew

I need to learn a better DS homebrew devkit because the one I'm using is a kind of sloppy wrapper of an actual proper devkit and I AM QUITE LAZY IN THE REGARDS OF LEARNING ANOTHER API
