I know you have had a lot of server strains in the past few weeks (@peppy) and I think there are quite a few users who remain connected to Bancho for hours for no real reason. Sometimes I myself leave osu! open by accident.

Would it be of any use to set some sort of kick after 12-24 hours of inactivity ? Seems like that would relieve a bit of the strain...

But I don't know much about Bancho or servers. Just a suggestion that may be useless.

actually, I've got the same idea TPS has, and am +1 support for it. Also, guilty as charged, but do some people really need more than one or two IRC's open (with the exception of peppy) at the same time? I know some players who leave 3 IRCs open at the same time.

...server...strain? You make me laugh. Ha ha ha.

No need for any of this. Bancho is tested well above 1000 simulataneous connections, and can easily be expanded. The server problems a few weeks ago were due to a misconfiguration at the OS/hardware level and have since been resolved.

Thanks for the thought though.
