It does.

I know when I was making the Insane map for Shotgun Symphony, the BPM triples at the sound of the gun cocking for the slider to emulate the same effect.

I played your file, it was nice, but it changed for that slider in it's entirety and that's not what I mean.

Oh are you trying to have the velocity of the slider change DURING the slider? That'd be neat.
