I'm running windows vista ultimate SP2, 32 bits, 4 gbs ram, nvidia geforce 9600, C2Duo T9400 @ 2.53 GHz

This is an interesting one. Are you running a special version of Vista? Have you tried switching from DirectX to OpenGl in the osu! options?

wow, that did it :p
I could't see any menus so i went to the faq and changed directx to opengl following the picture and now the menus appear. I'm not running any special version of vista. i'm using the latest graphics driver from nvidia for notebooks and i have directx 10. Don't know it that helps...
