Problem:
After playing a ranked map online, a score with rank is recorded online. Locally there will be a letter to the left of the beatmap showing the highest passing rank.
Now if osu! quits unexpectedly, eg. crash or forcibly terminated, after restart the rank besides any beatmap previously played in the last session will not be in sync with the one recorded online.
A picture is shown here:

Environment:
osu! fully updated
.Net framework all versions + service packs installed
Windows XP Pro SP3

Clearing local scores do not help.
There is a possibility that this may a problem specific to my computer, but I'd just like to ask.

Thanks.

This is expected behaviour. After playing the map it should be corrected.

Okay, problem resolved. Thanks.

Solution: Play through the map again (I don't know if failing the map will help). Score doesn't matter.

Suggestion: Though this problem is minor, maybe letting osu! sync with the online record is better?

It does sync, but in a smart way as to not cause a huge amount of load on the server (and your internet connection) every time you start osu!. This should never actually be a problem unless osu! crashes as you say, and even then the damage is very minimal.

Going to mark as resolved.
