Round 28: Square Formation

Nominated by Beuchi-chan. These are just a bunch of hitcircles, forming a square shape. They usually have a bit of space between each hitcircle. The square can be angled (diamond) or just upright.

Map(s) that use this technique
KOTOKO - Oboetete ii yo by James.
Wiklund - Whip the Blip by Ultimate

4. Fun to play, but I miss on them a lot.
Jinxy
Only if they aren't at 90 or 45 degrees. Those two are pretty boring imo.

4'd.

Hate.

No idea why, but I often get lost on them.

Protip: Read the approach circles.

That said, I like these, best when rotated to be more of a diamond than a square.

...Though, can you please replace the OP's pic with one that is done correctly? If you look closely, you'll notice that it's not actually a square formation, the last circle is slightly off.

3. Kinda bland and they don't flow quite right.
Jalatiphra
my personal favourite.. with enough spacing in between 5
Doomsday
I quite like them. I use them quite a lot in my maps, and unless its the kind where the spacing increases as the pattern goes on, theres not much that can go wrong. 5'd

They're... normal, I guess. Not awful but not incredible either.
I don't usually find them confusing (I believe) unless one of the hitcircles is out of the pattern (like a clockwise diamond with 1 - 2 - 4 - 3).
YGOkid8
when used right in a map, they can be surprisingly appealing.

I've always liked the way closer circles (without overlapping) look. I also love how they play.
