The premise is that if you play an approved difficulty first (in this case, Lunatic), and you play the ranked difficulties afterwards, the ranked score must EXCEED the approved score in order for the score to be added to your overall score. For example, orioncomet played Lunatic first, and FCed with a score of around 20m. Because the max score on Hard is only around 5m, the Hard score was not recorded.
