What do you think of the banner for school Y9 newsletter?

Well, the images used are good, but the way they fade into each other keeps me from focusing on any of them and risks giving me a headache. I dunno, maybe use only one image, or increase the transparency in one of them (make it fainter)?

Not a fan of the transparency - can't see either image clearly... it feels very hard to look at at the moment. You will want to do a crossfade from one image to the other if anything, rather than overlaying both. Also the top-right font seems quite out of place - too small maybe, and very camouflaged.
I recommend adding an outer glow to the text, to make it more visible. Also, picture-on-picture = ARGH-MY-EYES

To tell the truth, I can't see much difference in those two banners. A slight change in transparency?
