I think it would be nifty if you could use your own sounds for Whistles, Finishes etc. Surely it's feasible?
I think it'd be cool if you could have a beatmap like... say... Say you're doing the Rozen Maiden theme song, and everytime you do a "Finish" it says "Desu!" instead, or when you do the Metal Gear theme, each slider spin is a loop of Snake saying "Metal Gear?!" Similarly, a song from .hack// could be accompanied by the SE's from the game.
Sounds slightly silly, but it's feasible. You could also get it to default to the regular sounds should the custom ones not be present.
