Well, this is my first beatmap. I must be nuts doing a 1/8 as my first but...I need wiggle room for timing.

P.S. This isn't the final theme, the original title is too long XD

v.08 Corrections made, added sounds, and is now finalizing the beatmap.
v.09 Moved some notes here and there. Still pondering if it's fine now...
(If it does get ranked, I might make a Lunatic version of this song.)

I can't seem to play this beatmap, the song won't even play when I drag the file to the window. I don't know what the problem is. It could just be me. :(

Still can't seem to play or even test this beatmap, but somehow I found a way and all i can do is go in edit mode.

ANYWAYS here are some changes that I suggest!

Change offset from -02 to 1660
00:02:83 (3) - needs to be moved to 00:02:88 (3).
00:03:89 (2) - needs to be moved to 00:03:94 (2).
00:04:46 (3) - needs to be moved to 00:04:56 (3).
00:05:33 (2,3,4,5) - needs to move over by 1 tick in 1/8 divisor.
00:08:22 (1,2,3) - needs to move over 2 ticks, 00:08:31 (1,2,3).
00:09:95 (1,2,3) - needs to move over by 1 tick, 00:09:99 (1,2,3) then 00:11:20 (3) - to 00:11:24 (3).
00:12:45 (3) - to 00:12:49 (3).

After the first break:

00:27:64 (1,2,3) - over 2 ticks, 00:27:74 (1,2,3). Slider 3 needs to be shortened. The slider should end at 00:28:70.
00:28:12 (3) - over by 3 ticks, 00:29:28 (4).
00:29:61 (1) - over by 1 tick, 00:29:66 (1).
00:30:29 (2) - back by 1 tick, 00:30:24 (2).
00:35:33 (2) - over 2 ticks, 00:35:43 (2).
00:35:77 (3) - over by 1 tick, 00:35:81 (3).
00:36:34 (4) - over by 1 tick, 00:36:39 (4).
00:40:38 (3) - over 1 tick, 00:40:43 (3).
Slider 00:40:96 (4) - over by 1 tick, 00:41:01 (4), then shorten it. Should end at 00:41:58

00:43:84 (5,6,7) - over by 1 tick, 00:43:89 (5,6,7).
00:45:00 (8) - over by 1 tick, 00:45:05 (8).
00:47:69 (2) - over by 1 tick, 00:47:74 (2).

After second break:

01:05:91 (1,2,3,4) - all over by 1 tick, 01:05:96 (1,2,3,4).

It may be real small changes, but at least now it will be more accurate.

Okay, it didn't load for me at all, I click on it and it says the audio wont load. Pity because I do love Border of life

I did go into the edit section and it seemed off to the version that I have therefore making it unplayable. I hope you manage to fix the problem

Ok, I've posted a bug about this problem last night and peppy answered to it. He said:

"These are problems with those specific beatmaps, rather than being a program-wide bug. It is usually due to the mp3 filename having garbled characters."

I've seen the .mp3 file and it does have "garbled characters" If it's possible you can either try to rename the .mp3 file and do a full-submission again. Or you may have to find another .mp3 with the same song but without the "garbled letters". Renaming might work, i'm not entirely sure though.

Go into your songs folder and open the folder "ZUN - Border of Life". Rename your mp3 file so no more "garbled characters." Then, open notepad and open your osu file, which is also in the songs folder.

In the osu file, where it says:
[General]
AudioFilename: 13. 幽雅に咲かせ、墨染の桜 ~ Border of Life.mp3

Rename "13. 幽雅に咲かせ、墨染の桜 ~ Border of Life.mp3" to the new name of the mp3.

Wow, that just fixed everything. ;)
And after you made those changes, do a full submission for now.

Edit: Hmm, the suggestions I put may be a little off for some reason, lol.

Well...I'm THINKING of ending the song at 1:55:90 because later in the song, it'll loop.
On top of that, I think 4 minutes (that's the length of the whole song I have) is quite much.

Thats a good place to stop. But make sure you make the changes that buraimaster1234 posted because no one can play or test your beatmap out! :o Unless you need help with doing that, then I can help. :P

Once you've made those changes, i'll fix the timing for you and post it as an attachment.

Also you'll need to create 1 more difficulty for a better chance of getting it ranked. :D

I got Normal done. Now my concern is that it's on timing.

The beatmap wasnt resnapped, but it's ok.
I actually made some changes so here's another copy, but this time I added a different bpm for the beginning. Also fixed the ending notes a little bit using distance snapping. Used 1/6 divisor for this and resnapped. DOWNLOAD! It's better timed. ;)

Oh and I only looked at Normal for now.

Here are the timing sections I got...
1) Offset: 1,660
BPM: 144.670
Audio: Soft
2) Offset: 15,760
BPM: 155.980

I resnapped, recalced, and nudged some beats afterwards to sync this.

Now, time for the detailed modding. These following changes are for after I did this.

-00:01:660 (1, 2, 3) - I don't like how closely these are spaced. Distance them more.
-00:03:318 (1, 2, 3) - Same thing as before, and the 1 is too far from the 3. So, essentially, make the distance between the previous 3 and 1 smaller.
-00:04:977 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) - I like the distance apart that these are spaced, but this is the exact same spacing used for the other beats (which have a different rhythm), which angers me. Keep this distance for patterns like this, but not for stuff like the first point I brought up.
-00:08:295 (1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1) - Yet again, same spacing issues. This time, I think the last 1 is a bit too far away from the 3 right before it, as well.
-00:29:223 (4) - This is too close to the end of 3.
-00:30:184 (2, 3) - Still too close for my tastes.
-00:34:800 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) - The spacing between the end of that last slider and 1 is too small, along with the space between 1 and 2. The distance between 2 and 3 is too large, the distance between 3 and 4 is too large (or maybe just right, if you actually evenly spaced it), the distance between 4 and 5 is too small. On 3-10, I don't particularly like the clap/finish combo. I'd say that 10 should only have a finish, and if the clap is needed, only 6-9 should have it (I kinda like the whistle hitsound better). Finally, make 6 the start of a new combo. I feel like that flows better.
-00:40:955 (4) - This is too close to 3 (well, that 1, 2, 3 stack).
-00:41:917 (1, 2, 3) - Yeah, this is spaced too close, as well. I also believe that 2 and 3 should not be in a stack.
-00:47:110 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) - Okay, you've seen the spacing errors by now, but I'll already say what they are. 1 needs to be further away from the end of 8. 2 needs to be further away from 1. 5 needs to be further away from 4. 6 needs to be closer to 5, 7 needs to be closer to 6, 8 needs to be closer to 7, and 9 needs to be closer to 8. The same distance you'd use for patterns like this. The spacing here is so incredibly spastic, really, so PLEASE change it.
-01:10:767 (4, 5) - Stack these two on the end of 3 (where the slider ends).
-01:12:305 (1, 2, 3) - 1 needs to be closer to the end of 5. 2 needs to be further away from 1, and 3 needs to be further away from 2. Essentially, look at the type of spacing used at 01:05:958 (1, 2, 3, 4). That's the kind of spacing I'm looking for. Not that exact grid pattern, mind you, but the distance between each beat.
-01:14:036 (4, 5, 6) - Move 4 a tad closer to the end of 3. Make the distance between 4, 5, and 6 the same as the area I just mentioned.
*-01:15:960 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) - I like how this is spaced, but I find the 1 to be a bit too far from the 6 before it, so I'd say highlight all of this and move it a tad closer to the 6. But after you space out 5 and 6, this might not be needed.
-01:18:268 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) - Space this out evenly, the same distance apart as before with this type of pattern. Also, it can be hard to clearly see 7, so don't place it on the slider.
-01:24:422 (1, 2, 3, 4) - Space this out evenly.
-01:25:961 (5, 6, 7) - First off, space 5 further away. Second, space this evenly. Third, I don't like the 3 claps. I think 7 should either have a clap or a whistle, but not both (I'd prefer a whistle, personally, but eh).
-01:31:154 (1) - I say that this is too close to 10.
-01:32:692 (3) - This is too close to 2.
-01:34:231 (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10) - Evenly space these. Keep 5 and 6 in a stack.
-01:37:308 (1) - Too close to 10. Way too close.
-01:40:770 (4, 5, 6, 7) - Evenly space this. This is too close in my mind.
*-01:44:671 (1) - Too close in my mind, but then again, there is the time that it takes to fade, so this is just optional, most likely.
*-01:46:156 (1) - ^
-01:46:925 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 1) - Space this out evenly depending on the timeline distance between each beat.
-01:49:233 (1) - I don't like this slider. Get rid of it and add something else in its place, I just find this slider awkward.
-01:53:272 (5) - Stack this on the 4.
-01:53:657 - This spinner should end on 01:55:772. Mistake on my part, noticed it as I was modding this.

Now, for the detailed report...mostly spacing errors! what a surprise right, ahaha

-00:02:904 (2, 1, 2, 3) - 2 should be further away from 1, 1 should be closer to the previous 2. This new 2 should be further from 1. Make the distance between 2 and 3 smaller by a tad.
-00:09:540 (2, 1, 2, 1) - ^ except replace 3 with this last 1.
-00:11:613 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) - Nothing wrong here. Just wanted to point out that this is the spacing I'd like for beats with this rhythm.
-00:28:646 (2, 3, 1, 2, 1) - Make 2 further away. Just, no. That's not cool. Move 3 further away from 2, 1 a tad closer to 3, 2 further away from 1, and 1 a tad closer to 2.
-00:34:223 (1, 2) - Nothing wrong with this. Just wanted to point out that something this distance away on the timeline....this is the preffered distance between beats with this rhythm.
-00:35:377 (3, 4, 5, 6) - Space this out evenly. Also, get rid of the whistle on 4, and move it to 6.
-00:41:532 (3, 1, 2, 3, 4) - Space this out evenly, get rid of the whistle on 2 and put it on the first 3. Afterwards, remove the New Combo mark from 1.
-00:46:533 (1, 2, 3, 4) - Okay, space this out evenly. Next, remove the whistle from 4.
-00:49:225 (6) - Whistle here.
-00:49:610 (7, 8, 9, 10) - Highlight this, then move it diagonally above 6, keeping the even spacing for parts like this. Next, un-highlight it and make 7 the start of a new combo.
-01:07:497 (2) - Further away from 1.
-01:12:113 (1, 1) - Space these further apart. 1 #1 should be further away from 4, and 1 #2 should be further away from 1 #1.
-01:15:190 (1, 2, 3) - Clap sounds = no. Remove them.
-01:15:960 (4, 5) - Clap sounds = yes. Add them.
-01:19:806 (1) - Move this further away from 1.
-01:21:345 (2, 3) - First, I'd say for you to start a new combo here. Next, I'd separate this into two sliders of the same length (one red tick to one white tick), but one would start at 01:21:345 and end at 01:21:729, while the other would start at 01:21:922 and end at 01:23:076. The beat previously known as 3 would be in the same place that the new slider would end.
-01:28:269 (1) - Space this a tad further away from 3, then get rid of the New Combo mark.
-01:33:846 (1, 2) - Space this stack further away from 1. Adjust the spacing afterwards so it's the same as before.
-01:35:193 (5, 6, 7) - Space 5 further away from the 3,4 stack. Then, space 6 and 7 evenly apart. 6 needs to be further away from the end of 5.
-01:38:078 (2, 3) - Space these further apart, but evenly spaced. 2 needs to be further from 1, 3 needs to be further from 2.
-01:43:463 (3) - Add a whistle hitsound.
-01:45:002 (3) - Add a whistle hitsound.
-01:46:156 (1, 2, 3) - Add clap hitsound to these 3 and a whistle on 3.
-01:46:925 (1, 2) - Add a clap hitsound to 1, a whistle to 2. Remove the New Combo mark from 1.
-01:47:502 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) - This should be spaced out, not in one stack. Space it out evenly (according to the timeline). Next, remove the New Combo mark from 1 and place it on 4. Put hit & finish hitsounds on (what was) 4, 5, and 6.
-01:49:233 (1, 2, 3) - Clap hitsound on 1, 2, and 3. Whistle hitsound on 3, as well. Next, remove the New Combo mark from 1.
-01:50:722 (what was 4, 5, 6) - Make 4 the start of a new combo. Then, whistle hitsound on (what was) 6.
-01:52:310 (1, 2, 3, 1, 2) - See 01:46:156 (1, 2, 3) and 01:46:925 (1, 2).
-01:53:657 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) - I hate this ending. Difficulty spike at the very end != fun in this case. Make it easier (so, completely redo the ending).

Looks like you've got some work to do.
